Biography

Dr. Howard Kushnick is a board-certified glaucoma and cataract specialist.  He earned his bachelor’s degree graduating Summa Cum Laude with high honors in Biology from Tulane University. He then went on to earn his medical degree at the Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans. He has been inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha, the most prestigious undergraduate and graduate honor societies.

Dr. Kushnick completed his internship in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan before completing his ophthalmology residency at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.  After his residency, completed additional fellowship training in glaucoma at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

After beginning his career in New York and being awarded several honors in teaching, Dr. Kushnick relocated to the Lehigh Valley where he has been in practice since 1999.

Dr. Kushnick is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

At OCLI, Dr. Kushnick specializes in routine and complex cataract and glaucoma surgeries.  He is expertly trained in all facets of glaucoma medical and surgical management including trabeculectomy, iStent, ECP, tube shunts, SLT, and the most advanced management of minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries.
