Biography

Dr. Ravi A. Shah earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He then interned at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, before completing his ophthalmic residency at UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School. Afterward, he undertook a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Dr. Shah specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of corneal disease and corneal transplantation.

The doctor has co-published numerous scientific articles, including: “Differential Vulnerability of Oculomotor, Facial, and Hypoglossal Nuclei in G86R SOD-I Transgenic Mice, with E.A. Nimchinsky, W.G. Young, G. Yeung, J.W. Gordon, et al for the Journal of Comparative Neurology; “Use of Mitomycin-C for Phototherapeutic Keratectomy and Photorefractive Keratectomy Surgery” for Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, with S.E. Wilson; “Retinol Hemorrhages in a Young Patient with Homocysteinuria” for the British Journal of Ophthalmology, with M.A. Zarbin and N. Bhagat; and “Different Modes of Hippocampal Plasticity in Response to Estrogen in Young and Aged Female Rats” for the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, with M.M. Adams, W.G. Jansen, and J.H. Morrison.
